I am displaying these photos in the hope that it might help someone from finding themselves in my situation. Excuse my descriptions, I’m just passing on what my mechanic explained to me and may not have the part names 100% correct.

In this photo you’re looking at the upper wing spar from the right wheel well. Next picture will show the corrosion up close…

Here is the corrosion – notice what looks like paint but isn’t. Also, notice how what I think is the spar cap and spar doubler are spreading apart. In person you can see that the aluminum is actually bowing in that area, and the rivet I circled is bending.



Over to the left side.. this picture gives you an idea of where you’re looking, next comes close-up


Harder to see on this side but if you look at the area I circled under the rivet you’ll notice that aluminum has been corroded away



Also on the left side, notice how this shim is separating from what I think is the spar cap.


Apparently not nearly as serious but for reference this is some type of corrosion on the flap
